A Trip to Kolli Hills

Kolli Hills Road (also known as Kollimalai Ghat Road) is an extremely dangerous mountain road with a length of 46.7 km located in Kolli Hills or Kolli Malai, a small mountain range located in central Tamil Nadu in Namakkal district on the east coast of South India.

I started my drive around 6:30 A.M. Moon has just wore it’s hood. The weather played the role of heaven and the road stretched before me includes 70 continuous hairpin bends.

The views of the plains below are  and the dense green tropical forests surrounding the hairpin bends adds to the charm but just as you least expect it, to top this, the narrowness of the road bombed the thrill in me. The 70 hairpin bends, which are spread across a little more than fifteen kilometres are nearly continuous and it is indeed a pleasure to drive on these winding roads. The cool breeze hitting my face created the combustion in me, never did give the thought of hitting the brakes.

By 8:15 A.M I reached the destination. I paid visit to the temples there. Felt blessed at notch it was more than joy ride.A glimpse of the waterfalls and the gardens sparked an inexplicable feel that told me am healthy as ever, you see that’s the magic snap when we feel connected with nature.

I departed around 4 P.M from the hills. The return ride felt like neverending in my memories I cannot outrun the bliss I was bestowed by that trip.
